Marketing Jumpstart: Day 1 – Starting at Zero with a Brand New Website and Blog

So what exactly does it take to launch a successful website or blog?

How do you decide what marketing to do for a new business, or a new project within your business?

There are a zillion possible options to explore – probably more.  And even when you’ve narrowed down the marketing decision-making to a more manageable million choices, how do you know what to do first, second and third… and then what do you do after that?

Smart marketing decisions are essential. But how do you know what the right decisions are for you and your business?

Whether you’re new to all this, or an old hand at marketing your business, I hope you’re going to find this little Marketing Jumpstart experiment of mine both interesting and useful.

Today’s the day I launch this website and blog into the big wide world of the Internet. There’s a lot of competition out there, and I’m starting this from zero.  There are only a few pages so far,  zero traffic to speak of, and no social medial whatsoever. Nothing. Zilch.

So I need to take action – but not just any action,

It’s all about asking the right questions.

I need to ask smart questions, take the time to really understand and process the answers I get, and then follow up to check whether what I’m doing is working or not.

And I’m inviting you along for the ride.

Unusually for a new website, I’m going to be very transparent. Each day I’ll be writing at least one blog post on marketing. There’s a lot I want to talk about and share.

It’s all about taking action to get results.

So the aim of this website is to walk the walk, as well as talk the talk. You’ll get an honest, unabridged inside look, in real time at what I’m doing to market this Reluctant Marketers website. I’ll share a lot here,  in a series of Marketing Jumpstart posts.

And of course, I’ll be building up the marketing content including tutorials and thoughts on some aspects of marketing that can truly change your outlook on marketing your business.
